Here’s our mentor and friend Michael Halloran .
We would have no one to school us rather than.
But now he is eighty
With doings more weighty.
He should have told us we’d need a good backup plan.

This is about 1986, just after I graduated. My headshot on this entry captures me at the other end of the boat smiling at this view. I always wanted to be just like Michael, right down to the sailboat. But the used sailboat I finally bought defeated me. And I couldn’t manage to keep my hair either.



Below are Michael, Mary, and Linda after my defense in May 1985. I was taking the picture. I thought I had one with me in it but this will have to do. Linda is much better looking anyway.
